Agfa FarbenPlatten Autochromes of Lake Minnewaska in 1929-30

Another little gem, found on the hunt for clothing. 3 boxes of glass plate autochromes made at Lake Minnewaska New York. Autochrome photographs are the first version of color photography that was widely used. They have a beautiful quality that scans barely capture.

Birch trees along the edge of the lake. Minnewaska is a crystal clear lake with water too acidic for fish.

The cliff house on the left of the picture overlooking the lake is now gone. A fire destroyed it.

A rainbow over the lake with the Cliff House on the right.
